1 in 100 US Adults Incarcerated

According to a New York Times Article 1 out of every 100 US adults is in prison. 1.6 million people. The cost to state and local governments is astronomical, meaning the cost to you and I is astronomical. The prison system is completely broken. Many are making money off this situation, and with costs ballooning it can only be a matter of time before total privatized prisons for profit make their way into American life. And at that point there is even more incentive to incarcerate people, which means laws become tougher thanks to the corporatists in government positions, which means freedoms dissolve, which means capitalist fascism (not an oxymoron).
