Subaru: An Oly Favorite

The Subaru Outback is the most popular car in Olympia. It's numbers far exceed that of any other automobile I've seen here. Its demographic: young hip women with massive parental funding probably attending Evergreen State University, young liberal couples with one, possibly two small children. The occasional dude can be seen solo in one, but by and large it's a woman's car. Status symbol? Hipster cred? Granola approval? The elusive Trar? The reasons escape me.
